TRICK OR TREAT WITH A TWIST

Plattduetsche Senior Living Center in Franklin Square

This Halloween season, we’re flipping the script and bringing the treats to our treasured seniors! Volunteers will hand-deliver beautiful, handmade canvas paintings (previously made by our volunteers) to residents of the Plattduetsche Senior Living Center. Dressed in festive costumes (nothing scary please), we will parade through the facility, sharing smiles, laughter, and a whole lot of love with the residents. We want them to know that they are remembered and celebrated this Halloween season. Both residents & non-residents of Franklin Square are welcome to participate. Open to families of all ages; registration required.

HALLOWEEN CHALK THE WALK

Spread kindness in our community this Halloween! Create a colorful, kindness message for trick-or-treaters on your sidewalk or driveway! Then, take a picture, tag us or email it to us, so we can spread your message with others across social media on Halloween. Note: Community Service hours will be given out for this event and credit will be based on your effort and the detail of your design.

THE WELCOME PROJECT: A Mom's Night Out Service Event

Join us for a special night with Howie's Heart where moms come together to welcome and support young mothers beginning their motherhood journey. Together, we’ll paint beautiful doormats—one to keep and one to gift—write encouraging letters, and gather much-needed baby supplies to help support the mothers living at Momma's House. This is more than just a night out—it’s a chance to connect, give back, and wrap new mothers in a warm, supportive welcome to motherhood. Thank you to Nicole from Sweetly Coco Designs for partnering with us for this special event! Open to both residents and non-residents of Franklin Square. Registration required. Cost: $35 per person. Participants will be sent a link for payment once their registration has been confirmed.

HAZEL'S HARMONY

Join us for a heartwarming evening celebrating acceptance, inclusion, and love through Hazel’s Harmony!
At just 8 years old, Hazel is on a mission to share the special bond she shares with her brother, Joe, and raise awareness about Autism. Families will enjoy a fun-filled night featuring storytime, crafts, and karaoke—all centered around the theme of understanding and unity. Together, we can learn how acceptance and understanding help us all live in perfect harmony.

Open to both residents & non-residents of Franklin Square. Ages 5-8 & their parents/caregivers; registration required.

WORLD KINDNESS DAY 2025

Kindness starts with you! This World Kindness Day, we are encouraging our friends & followers to come together and spread good vibes in their community. Perform 5 good deeds—big or small—and share your photos or videos with us. In return, we’ll show our appreciation by awarding you 1 hour of community service credit. It's our way of saying thank you for making the world a little brighter!

CARDMAKING with the CreativiDAD Project

Get into the holiday spirit with the CreativiDAD Project! This family-friendly printmaking class invites tweens, teens, and parents to design and craft heartfelt holiday cards for families in need. All materials provided — just bring your imagination and holiday cheer!

It’s a fun and meaningful way to spend time together while spreading kindness and creativity. Open to both residents & non-residents of Franklin Square. This is a Family Service event for tweens/teens & their parent/caregiver; registration required.

HOT COCOA STAND 4 A CAUSE

10:00am to 3:00 pm
Corner of Scherer Blvd & Russell Street in Franklin Square

Join us as we “set up shop” to support Kids Need More! Every dollar raised will benefit children and teens facing cancer, life-threatening illnesses, and other difficult life challenges. Volunteers can sign up for a shift at our hot cocoa stand, bake treats to donate, or do both — and earn community service hours while making a difference!

Open to children and teens (ages 7 & up) and their family partners. All youth volunteers MUST be accompanied by an adult.

We’re coming together again to support children and teens facing cancer, life-threatening illnesses, and other tough life experiences. Every cup and sweet treat sold will Kids Need More bring joy and hope to Long Island children and teens!

Sign up for a volunteer shift, bake something sweet to donate, or do both to earn community service hours while spreading kindness! Let’s bundle up and make this month’s fundraiser the warmest one ever! Open to children and teens (ages 7 & up) and their family partners. All youth volunteers MUST be accompanied by an adult.

HOLIDAY CHEER BUS

It's time for another magical ride with Kids Need More! Join our Elf Team and jump on our Holiday Cheer Bus to help spread joy to families across Nassau County who are coping with cancer, life threatening illness and other tough stuff. Experience the joy of giving, the warmth of togetherness, and the true meaning of the holiday season with your family and ours!

Open to families with children ages 12 & up. All youth volunteers MUST be accompanied by an adult. This event is NOT eligible for community service hours.
