Dive into a summer of service and make waves of positive change in our community with Howie's Heart! This free camp is open to children ages 8 to 11 who are interested in spreading kindness and helping others through acts of service. Campers are expected to attend all four sessions and will receive a complimentary Howie's Heart t-shirt. (Limit: 12 Campers. Open to both residents and non-residents of Franklin Square.; Registration required.)

In conjunction with our July school supply drive at the Franklin Square Library, join Howie's Heart in designing one-of-a-kind pencil cases and backpack tags for students in need. This is the perfect chance to give back, get crafty and make school a little brighter for other students. Open to both residents and non-residents of Franklin Square. (Limit: 20 Participants; Registration required)

Youth volunteer, Valentina, and Howie's Heart invites children ages 10 to 12 to an evening of crafting to help pediatric cancer patients. Participants will create heart-shaped boxes filled with motivational messages, decorate mini clip-boards and design one-of-a-kind beaded stylus pens with Lisa from LMI Designs. Getting involved is a beautiful way to show that kindness really is the best medicine! Handmade items will be sent to Maxwell's Toybox for distribution. (Limit: 12 Participants; Registration required)

Join us for a creative, summer challenge inspired by the Love & Kindness Project Foundation! Create a colorful, kindness message for your community on your sidewalk or driveway! Then, take a picture and tag us on social media or email it to us, so we can spread your message with others. This is an ideal event for those living outside of the Long Island area and is eligible for community service hours for school and religious organization requirements.

Join us for a tail-waggin' birthday bash as we celebrate Dogust -- the universal birthday for all shelter and rescue animals. Come for the ice cream PAWty, stay for the cause...because the Nassau County SPCA animals deserve to be celebrated! We will make woofles (a dog friendly take on waffles) and stuff goody bags for the animals! This is exactly how Howie would want to celebrate his birthday! (Ages 10 and up. Open to both residents & non-residents of Franklin Square. Limit: 20 Participants ; Registration required.)

Calling all teens! Let's close out the summer with our friends at the Franklin Square Library by painting under black lights. Paint yourself a little inspiration as we get ready to start a new school year. Wear white to get this party glowing and get ready to dive into a colorful candy bar to satisfy your summer sweet tooth. Treat yourself to a fun night... you deserve it! (Registration handled by the Franklin Square Library).

Teens are invited to create holiday crafts and decorations for children with life-threatening illnesses & their families. Every ornament and colorful decoration will bring a little more love and magic to their holiday season. Handmade items will be distributed to families by our Holiday Cheer Bus team this Winter. (Limit: 24 Participants; Open to both residents and non-residents of Franklin Square. Registration required).
